CRAVO SHADE HOUSE
A protected environment. Two productive purposes.
A one-acre Cravo retractable-roof growing house is proposed at the centre of the demonstration farm, divided equally between propagation and vegetable production.
RETRACTABLE-ROOF GROWING
Work with the weather, not just around it.

Cravo offers retractable-roof structures that allow a crop to receive outdoor conditions or protective cover. The appropriate roof and curtain configuration depends on climate, crop needs, and site conditions.
For this one-acre concept, obtain a supplier-designed proposal rather than assume that a larger field-covering model or generic shade net will fit.

ZONE A · HALF AN ACRE
Vegetable transplant propagation.
SEED TO SEEDLING
Batch-based nursery care
Use dedicated sowing, germination, growing, and hardening stages. Nursery bench area will be less than the 2,023 m² gross allocation.
CONTROL
Irrigation matched to seedlings
Separate propagation irrigation from crop-production irrigation. Set crop-specific operating limits with the nursery lead.
TRACEABILITY
A visible planting history
Identify each batch by crop, variety, sowing date, tray system, treatments, and destination.
ZONE B · HALF AN ACRE
Tomatoes. Cucumbers. Bell peppers.
TOMATOES
Dedicated production beds
Allow for crop support, working aisles, irrigation zoning, and harvest access.
CUCUMBERS
A separate crop-management zone
Plan trellis support, access, and a suitable irrigation regime for the selected variety.
BELL PEPPERS
Protected fruiting-crop production
Reserve space for crop care, scouting, picking, and movement of produce.
The three crops share the 2,023 m² gross production half. Their internal areas, varieties, densities, and cycles remain to be selected; an equal split is not assumed.
DESIGN IT AS TWO ZONES
Shared structure does not mean identical management.
Specify separately managed irrigation circuits and crop monitoring. Request independently controllable climate sections only where the chosen Cravo design supports them. A line on the plan does not create two sealed climates.
STRUCTURE
Confirm every load
Any trellising, hanging crop load, irrigation boom, or service attachment needs structural approval.
SANITATION
Protect the nursery
Provide a clean nursery workflow and manage movement of people, tools, water, and plant material.
AUTOMATION
Keep roof safety local
Wind, rain, and equipment interlocks belong in the approved local control system, not on the public website.
